ASAADMIN • September 7, 2024
It is with great pleasure that the Ancre Somme Association Charity extends its heartfelt congratulations to our esteemed member, Calum McShane, on the momentous occasion of his passing out from Cunningham Division of HMS Raleigh.

Lead Hand McShane has embarked on an accelerated program that will see him initially deployed to HMS Collingwood, where he will diligently develop his academic prowess in the field of Weapons Engineering Leadership.
Calum was accompanied today by his proud parents, Darryl and Leanne, and his sister Alexandra, who shared in the joy of this significant milestone.
On behalf of the entire charity, we extend our warmest wishes to Calum as he embarks on this exciting journey. May he find continued success and fulfilment in all his future endeavours.

We were pleased to meet yesterday with Tom, Chairman of Veterans Support NI (AAVS), to discuss expanding our partnership and developing new ways to support veterans and their families. This collaboration will make full use of our charity’s facilities at Brownlow Courtyard, helping AAVS deliver more local services.

On 11 Jul 25, a significant event took place at The Mansion House in the City of London, where Mark Jameson, Chairman of the Ancre Somme Association Charity, received the prestigious League of Mercy (LoM) for his exceptional voluntary service spanning several years. The award was presented by Lord Lingfield, President of the League of Mercy Foundation. This honour is a testament to his unwavering commitment and leadership within the community, especially in promoting awareness of those who served from the First World War to the present day.
